Located in Delaware County just 26.8 miles North of Columbus and 11.9 miles East of Delaware, Sunbury, Ohio is home to 7,906 residents as of 2022. Sunbury, Ohio was founded in 1816 and was originally designed as a stagecoach town. The founder of the town, Lawrence Myers built an inn for the stagecoach travelers to stay. Sunbury is a popular location to live as it is close to Columbus, but is not directly in the city. The population has been growing and Sunbury, Ohio recently transitioned from a village to a city in October of 2021.

Surve prides itself on serving fresh foods that are never frozen or microwaved. The staff is super friendly and provides healthy and tasty meals. Schools in this district include Big Walnut High School, Big Walnut Middle School, Big Walnut ‘Intermediate’ School (grades 5-6), Hylen Souders Elementary, Harrison Street Elementary, General Rosecrans Elementary, and Big Walnut Elementary. Children on the edge of Sunbury may be located in neighboring school districts and children living near Galena will attend Galena local schools.

Estalished in 2005, The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial is a memorial that commemorates the lives of every Ohio soldier who was lost while at war since 9/11. Sunbury was chosen for this location because of its proximity to the center of the state (Centerburg, OH) and easy access to 71 which travels from the Southwest part of the state (Cincinnati, OH) through the center (Columbus, OH) to the Northeast part of the state (Cleveland, OH). This is the only recognized Memorial in Ohio dedicated to all Ohio Millitary personnel that died in the War on Terrorism.

Those looking to explore the outdoors will want to check out Hogback Ridge Reserve. This is a 41 acre park great for hiking or walking on different trails. There is even an equestrian trail for guests to ride their horses through the park. Pets are also allowed in case you want to take your furry companion along for a walk. Nature lovers will enjoy the various wildlife including white tailed deer, different species of birds, wildflowers, and more. During the Ice Age, glaciers passed through the area and you can notice this in the glaciation shapes in the park.

The Glass Rooster Cannery is a farm specific to canning and preserving. For those wanting to learn more about the canning process, Glass Rooster Cannery offers classes and tours. In the summer, kids will enjoy classes involving making mozzarella cheese, bubble tea, kabobs and more! This is also a popular spot to host weddings and other events. A guest house on the property hosts up to eight guests with three bedrooms, four beds, two and a half bathrooms, a kitchen, TV and more.

For those looking to play a round of golf, there are a few different golf courses to choose from including  Northstar Golf Club, Bent Tree Golf Club, Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club (private), and Big Walnut Golf Course. A disc golf course is available to the public at Kinslow Park Disc Golf Course.
